Arlene had some experience with Tow Trucks at VIR last November. First time we ever designated a radio location as "Chiefs In The Woods"!

Thanks for reminding me Bull - maybe I should keep my distance from tow trucks.

Shoot . . . I'll have to make a note that we are going to need a Turkey Patrol Steward at VIR? How many workers do you think we'll need Bull?

Sorry - not really that funny but it's been one of those nights . . . my able assistant is upstairs trying to fix the dishwasher with drano and it's starting to rain at track central in the basement . . .

I guess the "Chiefs in the Woods" was my doing. Nothing like missing the tire wall and ending up in the woods. I guess I get the award for going off the track the farthest.

I remember you perched on your tree stump, but you aren't the cause of the Chiefs in the Woods (but nice confession!!). You do get the farthest journey off-track award!

Anyway, the Chiefs in the Woods designation was caused by the chiefs following the tow trucks onto the service road after they recovered the Cup Car that lost an axle....then the tow trucks became "stuck" in the woods. In the mean time another run group was on track, so the chiefs couldn't get out of the woods. Seemed funny at the time......

That was my one off track excursion for the weekend. I never thought I would feel lucky about going into the trees. The tire wall would have been a much bigger impact! When the second tow truck and the NNJR van showed up, I knew I had some explainin' to do. At least I didn't catch the grass on fire like Emerick.

I was happy to see that you could drive for the remainder of the weekend! When I first saw your location and heard the reports of your car being "hung-up on a tree stump", it didn't sound good.

Cosmetic damage. One roll of black racers tape and a large prybar did the trick. Doesn't take much to do $1k worth of damage. Could have been worse though.

Bull, take note: I am not the only DE participant the required TWO two trucks to pull me out of an off-track excursion.

(For those who are unfamiliar - I got stuck in the mud at Lime Rock after an off-track, and the first tow truck also got stuck, so it required a second tow truck to pull us both out.)

How's that for hijacking a thread that's already been hijacked?
