Default Cage Photos Needed for 993/964

All,

I'm in the process of installing a new custom cage in the 993. Decided not to use the aluminum Matter bolt in, another garage anchor.

If anyone would care to post some photos of their cages I'd appreciate it. Or you can PM me. I'd really like to see a factory RS cage.

The interior is out and the car is sitting in the driveway covered in snow. Hopefully the process will get started this weekend.

Thanks for any help.

Alan, contact Tim aka Tar6day on Rennlist. He has my old 993 RSCS,C4RS,TT...car I built. It has an identical twin cage to the 993 RSCS/GT2 done in Chromolly and he is in Columbus. I can send You the guy who did the cage also if You like he is in the DFW area and his name is Todd Oppermann. Todd saved all the measurements so he could replicate that cage for all 911's he does. If You want to run SCCA then You dont want to exactly replicate the factory cage as SCCA will want something slightly different but Todd can explain all that...

Hello Alan,

I had a cage in my RS Komfort. Removed to bring the car to original state.

IMO, if you have a cage, you think there is a possibility of viewing the world with a new slant... for me would be steel only.

Here are some pics.. might scare up some more...:-)

Mine was made by Heigo and bolted exactly in factory bolt points. The Sabelt harnesses were a good fit also though they are a PITA for road use.

Hey Alan;

Not exactly 964/993, but there's not much difference, and it might give you some ideas.

This was a DE car. Primary objective was protection while being ultra space efficient. More racing features like door bars and diagonal braces could have been easily added. Many features based on the Factory 993RSR design.

Very nice John. No knee bar and welding the cage to the A and B pillars is very "factory". Weissach would approve.
