Default Racing suit longevity?

I tried a search and didn't really find anything on this topic.

I currently have a 3-layer, OMP suit that I purchased new way, way back in 1989 and it's still in very good condition. I haven't really used it that much over the years, but I will probably start doing some Time Trials w/ the POC later this year, so I will need it.

Is my driver's suit still good (i.e. safe)? Thanks in advance.

I guess I should ask a more specific question: Would anyone here know if my suit meets the new SFI rating 3.2A/5 standard? I don't think the SFI rating was around when I purchased my OMP. I'll also check w/ the competition director to get his input (which is probably what I should have done in the first place). Thanks, again.

Fyi, I did finally hear back from the POC Competition Director and he said if the suit doesn't have the SFI patch on it, then it's not going to be legal with the POC. Each club may be different, but that's POC's ruling. Again, fyi..
