Availability of SA05 Helmets
Does anyone know when the SA05 helmets will become available? I believe my SA95 will expire in 2005 for attending HPDEs therefore I would like to get a SA05 to maximize my usage.

Snell SA05 specs will be released in October 2005, so not before then.
SA95 should be good for a couple years yet with most organizations, although if your helmet is more than 5 years old it is generally recommended that you replace it. YMMV

Great point on replacing helmets every 5 years, most of my background is in the cycling industry, we were told to replace every year, imagine my suprise when when i started in the auto racing industry to find that helmets were certified for up 10 years!
Most sanctioning bodies will allow an SA95 helmet to be used until December 31, 2005. Kart racers should note that SA95 helmets expire today.
SA05 helmets will be available starting in October of 2005 at the earliest.
