Looking through the Smart Racing Products catalog, I noticed that they featured a 911SC (to show off their Fox shocks) that had what appears to be a screw-in style front tow hook much like those on the 996. I've seen this car at Porsche Racing Club events.

Eric - sounds like the factory tow hooks from 944 series. I have these welded both front and rear of my car - clean installation and not too expensive.

Hi everyone,

I got a place to computer laser cut a towhook for early 911 front bar. If anyone interested in getting one let me know they are made from 4mm thick high strength steel and to do a run of 5-10 would cost about US$30 each.

Speaking of Tow hooks, this might be slight OT, but I have a problem strapping my car down to the trailer, particularly in front. I understand that somewhere, someone makes tow hooks that bolt to the wheel studs. anyone know where you can get this or something like it?

That looks like it's mounted to the front of the shock that holds the bumper on. Is the shock strong enough in extension to be able to be pulled on like that without being pulled apart? Just a question since it seems like a simple solution if it is.

RJay, Check in with the "Men in Plaid". The lug nut rings are common around the 356 gang.

Hmmm...Obviously I don't get out enough. Men in Plaid? Who be these wishy-washy stripey Jackie Stewart types and where can they be contacted?
