Default Cheaper (<$100) roll bar camera mount

Is there anywhere you can get a roll bar / harness bar camera mount for less than $100 ?

Thanks,
Mike.

IOPort Racing has one for just under $100. Works OK with my stone age VHS-C camera but would probably be much better with one of the lighter, smaller digital cameras.

Mike,
You can fabricate a mount for next to nothing. It won't be a pretty as an IO port, but it will work. Basically all you need is a plate, some U bolts sized to your roll bar, and a captive screw to locate the camera. Tweak to setup to get a decent camera angle and you're done.

Hey;

I made mine from the head unit of an old tripod I bought at a garage sale for $5. That took care of horizontal and vertical sweep. I made a 2-piece base with a big thumb screw that takes care if radial leveling of the camera (side to side). A mouse pad was cut to provided shock absorbtion under the head of the tripod. The aforementioned exhaust clamps were used to bolt it to the belt bar. I made mine from aluminum and TIG welded it all together. Works perfectly and gets interesting comments all the time. No one would anticipate pride of onwership from a camera mount, eh?

If you had to pay someone to build one like I did, it would cost well more than $100. If you are handy, go for it. If not, buy one!

I am selling a Brey Krause camera mount (R-9010) for $75 plus shipping. PM me if interested. It was originally $139.95 and was only used for 4 DEs.

I made mine from an aluminum bracket I picked up at the local hardware store and a couple of U bolts.

i have a few extra bogen/manfrotto "super clamp" roll bar mounts, they are normally a good bit over $100 but as they are extras, and taking up space, i'd let one go for 50+s/h just to help a 'lister out... i'm gonna be outta town a lot in the next few weeks so hopefully you don't mind waiting / aren't in a rush.
