Default First Race Win!

Finally did it - first race win this past weekend at PBOC event at Road Atlanta. Best lap time for the weekend was 1:41.7, qualified 1st in class (R5), won class, and 9th overall. Repeat performance for Sunday - here's link to Sat results: http://www.pbocflorida.com/Race_resu...int_race_1.htm

While I've managed several 2nd place finishes with NASA GTS series the win with PBOC was a definite high.

Great feeling, eh? Really nice work to make the podium in several races, then score the first win. Next season should be ever better! COngrats.

Feels good don't it??

Congrats on the win, I see you even snubbed out a couple "Dumpster Roadsters" as I enjoy calling them.

With no disrespect to Marty and Rick of 600 Racing, of course...I race with those cars all the time, when I first got my Toyota, they were competition...now...well...

So, PBOC allows Thunder Roadsters in the mix?? I find that odd, but as I say, "the more that take the green flag - the merrier!"

Definitely a great feeling after that first win especially after mechanical failure 10 laps into the enduro Friday (qualified 1st in class with the 1:41.7 but front sway bar end-link broke causing spin at 7 and then into the gravel at 1). The roadster drivers maintained good awareness of the larger cars and took advantage of drafting on the back straight. I was very frustrated with the 2 star Mazdas they allowed to run in the enduro - constantly in my way and almost ran over one of them several times before I withdrew.

UH...two STAR MAZDAS were constantly in your way??

I'm considering a purchase of a Star or MSR and I could guarantee that my little Sister could outdrive a 911 such as yours in one of those!

I'm guessing these drivers were VERY new to thier Star Mazdas or you're just BLINDINGLY fast.

Congrats again, I wish I could add a few Star Mazdas to my "I beat those cars" log.

Congrats! It also appears that you were matched against some tough cars. May there be more 1st place trophies to keep this one from getting lonely!

Yes, it was a Mazda in the enduro - shooting flames out the exhaust and very fast overall. I know the faster cars run sub-1:20s. Apparently it was a new driver as he was holding me up during the start and in a few corners - wait, I forgot I am blindingly fast too

How was it running against the Bmws? Are you classed against the E36 M3s? BMW CCA was running at VIR last weekend and I looked at their timesheets. I'm not exactly sure I know what I am looking at, but I think that their "IS" cars are basically stock class M3s, and two of them were fast: turning sub 2:15s vs. the 2:20's we were running in G stock 911s...

Congratulations, Mike! I took this pic (and some others, if you're interested) up the hill from 10B on Saturday:
