The level of his accomplishment? You're kidding, right? Well, anyone who gets a top ten in the National Runoffs their FIRST time at bat has arrived at that ranking after having battled all of the other SCCA racers in the eight divisions or regions. The Runoffs are truly national and limited to the top ten in each division per class. "Winning a National Championship at the Runoffs means defeating the best club racing has to offer as well as bragging rights to say 'I am the best in the country.'" If you know anything about racing, you'd know that a top ten finish is really an incredible and highly respected achievement that not only shows individual driver talent but also reveals a deep level of perseverence and commitment, similar to a national tennis ranking.
Is that competitive enough for you? Read more about it at the SCCA National Runoffs.
So, have you achieved a national top ten status for DAS data evaluation?
(Pssst, try doing some research on racing (also known as ) so you don't have to keep on putting A-1 steak sauce on your shoe leather.)

Congratulations CC, you have just won the runoffs national championship for the funniest thing ever posted on Rennlist. I am sure Frank is none too happy about handing over the title to you.

Guys:
I am trying to be clear here and say that I don't know how tough his class competition level is, how fair his particular rules are regarding the car, etc. As an ignorant outsider (I know extremely little of SCCA racing, especially his class) I cannot cast an opinion but to say it sounds great. No slight intended at all, just I'm unqualified to comment about his specifics in his racing class. What I am somewhat qualified (not a lot of DF car analysis experience) to comment on is analyzing his DAS data and seeing how well he drove his car.
Again, no afront intended or implied, only trying to learn and be helpful.

That's it! I've got it thanks to CC! Mark, you are now the LCFDC Honorary National Chairman in charge of beating unknown competition!
p.s. CC helpful to whom?

BTW, do you mean to suggest that you usually charge folks to analyze their race data? Already made the jump to professional race engineer after a handful of track events and no knowledge of the Valvoline runoffs? Interesting.

Copy of my post on the 993 board:
I went to the Runoffs and it is an awesome event. Non-stop races from Friday morning to Sunday evening. Mark did great, he ran a very smart race but was aggressive when he needed to be. For a comparison this board will understand, Mark's best time was comparable to the top 996GT3RSR's but with less than half the amount of horsepower. In other words he was flying around the corners! Mark's fastest lap time was quicker than all but 5 of the cars left in his race. Mark had a lot of problems during the qualifying sessions, and he didn't get a good time so he started further back than he was capable of. Fortunately he got a good break on the first lap and got by about 5 or 6 cars that got bundled up in an incident. From there he is just fighting off some serious competition. Not to steal anymore of Mark's thunder but let me tell you that he knows how to brake! He and another guy had the best battle of the race and hopefully Speed will pick up some footage of their battle.
Speed will show the DSR race on Sunday November 28th at 3:00pm EST.

I will make one last effort. It sounds like a great accomplishment!
I assume Mark's goal was to win. He didn't. I can think of three reasons why he didn't, in any order. 1. His car was not competitive. 2. He had race events (mechanical, bad luck, etc.) 3. He didin't drive well enough. His data (and the resulting analyisis) will indicate some of 1 if it wasn't set up optimally and all of 3.
Personally, I would like to see how well you have to do #3 to finish in the top ten. My offer was to analyze what I could and then take the data to true proffesionals who could complete my analysis. It is a valuable offer for both of us.

I assume the previous mesage was intentionally written in that manner. I can think of three reasons why it would be written in that manner, in any order. 1. He purposefully makes a passing complementatry statement so he can justify the insulting, even boarish content of the rest of the message 2. He has no social graces whatsoever. 3. He is an idiot.
I don't think he'll admit to #3, although I take it many on this board perceive himthat way. So is it #1 or #2?
BTW, Here's my offer for Colorchange. I'm considering coming down to Putnam Park next week to check his tire pressures, free of charge...

Mike, all of us at LCFDC would appreciate it if you would stop at Putnam and let us know how our boy (CC) is doing. Specifically, what is his driving like (although we have the video tape), what is he like in person, and has his "thirst for knowledge and truth" helped his driving, or is he just talking out of his DAS.

Congrats, Sunday! WOW!
Cut and past into notepad, PRINT and PASTE on fridge door. I look forward to seeing the on-track action!
CC, you miss the point: you don't need DAS data to see how well he drove his car. In my non-technical, non DAS opinion, he drove the snot outta his car!
Congrats, again, Sunday! What's next? Speed World Challenge? An invite to Daytona 24? LeMans? Time to go BIGTIME!
