Default 996 Cup DME - Reprogramable?

Does anyone know - also i assume Porsche MS NA is the only one which can decode it.

You should contact Henry Hsu at Porsche Motorsports. He handles all the reprogramming for the DME. I doubt you would want anyone else to touch it. Depending on the year of the cup they can enhance the performance.

My understanding is that the 2002 and newer cup cars use the Bosch Motorsport 3.1 ECU, the same as you can purchase directly from Bosch. However, there is a wiring change which requires a hardware key (dongel) to communicate with it. If you a) had the hardware key and Bosch software, of b) replaced the Porsche Bosch 3.1 ECU with a standard Bosch 3.1 ECU, then you can reprogram it yourself. The ECU itself isn't anything special as any aftermarket ECU can do the functions in a Cup car.

The pre 02 cup cars have the production GT3 Bosch 5.1 ECU.
