From a time when racing drivers could, and did, drive anything.
Not too many of them still around.

Rufus- what a legend. Saw him with George Follmer 3 years ago at Laguna during a panel discussion. He was looking pretty frail- felt bad considering what I saw him do in the Trans Am back when I first started going to Road America WAY back when.

Great video at racer.com by Robin Miller that he did a couple years before he passed. Wish I knew how to link it...

RIP. What a legend. I had the honor of meeting his son PJ at Lime Rock a few years ago.

RIP to a legend of racing.

The Glen footage is indeed cool. I learned relatively recently that the track layout was substantially changed in 1970. I'd always assumed that they just added the boot, but apparently the layout was very different, especially near what is now the main straight and Turn 1. This video from 1970 looks to be just before the reconfiguration.

I miss those snippets from Robin Miller of the "old guys" that he used to do on racer. And boy did he know those guys from back in the day. I wish he could have lived long enough to see Kyle at Indy- that was always one of his biggest wishes...
