My name is Mitch, I have a 1997 Jetta 2.0 4 cyl. that shakes when I race it to 80 mph. Not a smartass, just wondering why Roger Clemens gave up 6 runs in the first inning of the All-Star game... I thought he was the "King."

Eh, i've been to a few of the races. I'm not a stranger and plan on being back in the game once I can do it on my own dime in a few years.

Sorry to everyone for hijacking this thread, just pushing a few buttons.

Anyway, I still stand by the fact that there is an overall difference between a PCA and pro driver. Maybe there are exceptions but it didn't look like it at Sebring the last two years when Dominik showed up. Just my .02.

well yah there is a dif between pca and pro, but there are exceptions, i agree with that.

i have run 13s at sebring in a stock 02 cup car. i qualified a 2:13.3 for the enduro, i was .1 seconds behind fartnocker-bocker. so you offended me by saying i (PCA driver) was no match to supercup guys.

Fartknocker.... I love it. Thats what I was calling home too. I guess I'm just envious of anyone under 30 that has the chance to race a cup car. I spent last semester in Europe and raced karts against some of the up and coming hot shoes. There is just a different attitude with the younger europeans, an attitude that I have yet to see manifested in any USA series. Heck, even the formula BMW USA series right now is lead by a few european boys.

I'd love to see an American pounding down supercup but right now its not a reality. Maybe you can put in a similar hot lap, but thats far from beating them wheel to wheel. I can go out and turn open track times in our USA cup good enough for any podium, but I will tell you all day I can't run banging wheels with guys like Jeff Burger.
The closest we have is Patrick Long(another lucky SOB!), and he's a product of euro karting.

a 02 car doesnt have it in it to hang with a well drivin 04 car in a race. no matter who is driving the 02, 1 1/2 to 2 seconds a lap is to huge.

of corse you can turn trak times good enough for podium, you drove go carts in europe, European GO-CARTS. you now have the skillz

After driving a similar car myself, I am in total awe of those times. Please tell me he was on slicks and not hoosiers....

I'm most impressed that Keith Peare can turn 2:01 in a 914 .
