Default WEC Season 2024

Opening in Qatar tomorrow. Porsche/Penske 963 gained the pole position today after a strong battle with Toyota. The first pole for Porsche. The JOTA team 963 will start 3rd. Five drivers were under 1:40 in the final qualifying with Matt Campbell leading at 1:39.347. The Toyota was close at 1:39,511 & the JOTA car at 1:39.623.
Will be interesting to see race pace times. It’s a long ten hours. With the GT cars running in the 1:50s, traffic will be an issue early.

Qatar is a challenging course; 16 turn, 3.43 miles with enough straights to reach speed. A really fun race for the fans.

Here’s hoping Porsche can open the WEC season like they opened IMSA with a 1st place podium!

Boom! Porsche finishes 1,2 & 3.

The Penske 963s we’re first & third with the JOTA Hertz team in second.

Methany Racing took their 911GT3R to the #1 finish in GT.

Great start to the season.

Yea that was fun to watch. In fact I'm still watching it (on MAX). Super fast clean racing. The Hypercars are amazing!
The mix of the LMGT3 and Hypercars on the track at the same time works surprisingly well.

I think I'm hooked on FIA WEC.

Instead of Miami for the F1 race this year, teaming up with Matt Lane and a couple others and heading to Spa for the WEC race early May. I cannot wait !

Cayman, don’t overlook IMSA; the same HyperCard, GT plus the LMP class. Fast, but can get crowded.
think I am going to pass on the Petite LeMas & head to Austin for the US WEC race.

You have to see Spa in person to truly 'get' it. Will be great to be there without 150,000 Drive to Survive Drunken Dutchmen too.

Great race. Caught the action on MotorTrend+. Unfortunate WEC is full on with the subscription model to access real time viewing.

Nurburgring is getting ready to open too. Some qualifiers coming up for their 24 Hour event.
