Default Flying into Sebring from Newark….

Fort Meyers or Orlando?

Considering traffic, distance, etc.

Or something else? Renting a place in Sebring Jan to April.

Thanks

Sarasota, small airport easy out and back in. Easy drive east to Sebring.

Might work but very few nonstops. If the times work though, that’s def an option.

Thanks

Sebring is sort of middle of nowhere. I'll be there in January for SCCA supertour race and fly LAX to Tampa. For me that's the easiest ingress egress non-stop. The state is not that crazy big. Tampa to Sebring and orlando to sebring are each under 2 hr. drive. I'm used to driving that all over the state and will arrive tampa stay in Naples on my way to fish 10,000islands then fish the everglades national park, then up to homestead/miami fish biscanye bay then onto sebring race and fly out tampa. Everything is a few hours away and pretty easy driving. Certainly there are closer airports to sebring but the majors are very doable and might be more convenient depending on flight times, layovers and legs to get there.

I flew to Tampa. Avoided Orlando due to heavy tourist traffic.

As a full time Sebring resident I think it is easier to fly into Tampa, I go a certain route developed over the years under 2 hours door to door, use the Polk Parkway off I4 east, take 98 south, to 60 to 27 south, fastest drive. If I can help out with any other local information let me know.

Drive right by RSW on my way to Sebring. Low key drive through the swamp, low traffic. Probably make it in <1.5 hrs from airport exit.

Thanks guys.

Has anyone ever used Fort Meyers? Plenty of non stops from Newark and cheap(er) flights.

I’ll be checking out Tampa and Fort Meyer’s. Maybe try each one time and see what’s better.

Thanks for all the help guys. Appreciate it.

When I have looked in the past the flights to Orlando are cheaper than Tampa, and there also seems to be more flights. I hate dealing with the tourist crowds of Orlando but it is what it is.

The ride from Orlando to either Sebring or Daytona always seems to take way too long and Florida drivers are a special kind of stupid.

Flight schedules and cost make Orlando the best for me I don’t find the drive too bad, it is what it is and it’s for sure gotten a lot worse in the last thirty-five years.
