2000 I was racing all kinds of enduros and sprints for different teams in PCA, EMRA and NASA (I think? seems like so long ago). I was such a race **** ........... oh wait I am still a race ****
My first track day was, I believe, 2001-2002. Lime Rock Park with SCDA. I had bought a Gen1 Miata. Installed a Hard Dog roll bar, as I was told ahead of time roll bars were required for convertibles. I bought the nice-looking single-hoop roll bar, and even splurged on the fancy leather roll hoop cover. Well, I was informed at the track that it had to be a 4-point roll structure. What did I know? I mentioned that I had driven a few hours from Long Island. They gave me a "pass" for that event. Also, my buddy told me to register as an Intermediate, as the Beginner group would have been too slow. Well, I got to my first session early. Lined-up first at the end of the pit lane. Looked in my rear-view mirror after a few minutes and saw 30 more cars behind me. Then they waved me out onto the track. Not a single lap on-track ever driven. With no instructor. Those were the days! All went well, and I've been fortunate enough to experience many tracks and great people over the years!
I'm cleaning my office and came across this list from a DE back in 2000. I recognize probably 50-60% of them and still see them at DE's or Races. I guess these are the lifers or hard-core to be still doing it 20+ years later.
I bought the car Tom Bobbitt had in this event ! Had some fun times in 2002-2003 with that car.
I was racing against your 2.7RS in mine, in E class. I found several of my race stories and they had links to your race stories on defunct alpinenet.com.
Here's the Watkins Glen start, I had qualified outside pole in C, D, E, GT4 and GT3 class thanks to the rain, but several blew by me at the start as it was dry.

Mike mentioned that my early race reports have disappeared. Unfortunately for the internet I found them and reposted some of them. If you want to dial up the WayBack machine, here's my report of my first club race at Lime Rock in 2000. Warning: anything I post is not a quick read

In 2000 my young son and I started driving karts. My son was much better at it than I was, so I set up his karts and he raced them. It took a few years, but he started getting on the podium and we finished by winning the 2005 Rhone Alpes 100cc championship. He barely qualified for the French GP, but did not make the final. It was very difficult, very competitive, very expensive and sometimes very rewarding.
1984 I started at Pocono with a 1970 911S. In 1985 I passed my instructor test with Bob Moir at Watkins. In 1990 feeling the need for more So I bought a 1972 shell from Gene Kirschner and built a 3.2 Ltr 911 which I used for DE. I instructed for the next 35 years or so. Made many great friends and incredible memories.
My favorite tracks are Mid Ohio, VIR, and Watkins.
July 1998 in an '83 SC cab on the worst street tires ever made. Slid down the slippery slope until recently when I called it. Car, spares, pick up and Trailex enclosed will be for sale in the spring.
First track experience was Brumos "familiarization day" at Roebling Road in January 1989. HPDE with TrackTime at Sebring in 92 or 93, lots of time with Kenley until he sold Car Guys and by then I'd started Club Racing. Heading to Sebring this coming weekend!

And you have a seriously cool car. A 968 Turbo RS is fantastic.
