Default Nurburgring's Foxhole

Reading about Stuck from R&T's 6/2004 issue page 103 re: the Fuchsrhore. There is a video on www.nurburgring.de with Frank Stippler. Can anyone familiar w/ ththe track tell us where on the video this Foxhole is? Thanks!

I haven't seen the video you're referring to, but from memory, I can tell you how to find Fuchsrore if you're watching an in-car lap. Roughly 1/3 of the way through the lap there will be a medium speed 90 degree right hander with the track passing under a bridge on corner exit. This corner is Aremberg. The next section is Fuchsrore. The track starts heading downhill going left, right, left, right, and finally left. This last left hander is downhill on entry and uphill on exit with a bit of banking. Its *very* fast and is one of the most fun corners I've ever driven. As soon as you come out of Fuchsrore, you have to brake *hard* heading into Adenau Forst, which is the slowest section on the track.

Here is the website to get to the video.
I tried to match the video to the map supplied by Phil and couldn't figure out exactly where it is.

Arthur, It's basically the semi-fast downhill easy-left straight that starts right after you go under the bridge/overpass.

Wow. Great video. Thanks for posting the link!! In this video they're running the new GP circuit in conjunction with the old Nordschlieffe, so it can get a bit confusing. The camera car passes through Fuchsrore twice during this video. The first time begins at 4:52 on the video as he passes under the bridge. He then passes the white car just after the apex of the fastest, most intense corner in the Fuchsrore section. Its really a spectacular pass in a very high speed corner followed by a one of the hardest braking zones on the entire circuit. The camera car then goes through the Fuchsrore section again at 13.36 on the video, and through the fast left hander at 13:48.

Hope this helps. I haven't read the Stuck article. What exactly does he say about driving through Fuchsrore?

Jim, Hans Stuck mentioned something tothe effect that this part of the N-ring separates the boys from the men. Or men from wusses. Any one here a real man? Stippler passing the white car at the Foxhole wiht such little drama vaults him into Superman status.
