I’m also a big fan of the JackPoint stands. To get around the inadequate clearance issue mentioned by paradocs on my lowered 997.2 Turbo, I first jack up a corner of the car without the JackPoint disc, then lower the tire temporarily onto a section of 2x4. That provides the added clearance to then jack up the car with the JackPoint disc.

When I got my 987 CS I also got the Jackpoint stands and they work great, just do not get the car up very high. Then I learned you can jack one side up using the rear jack point, get it up nice an high, place one jack stand under front jack point and then place rear jack stand under the solid bar that goes from the rear jack points towards the cover for the transmission. Then repeat on the other side and good to go. Wish I knew the technical term for these frame pieces but car is very solid on these jack stand locations.

OP, I do the same on my .2TT with no rear center jack point. It’s actually pretty quick since you are only jacking twice. I drive the rears up on 45’ cut 2x8 “ramps” beforehand to have enough clearance for my jack.

Totally agree. If the OP doesn’t have it figured out by this point in his life, he’s either a priest, or a really REALLY lucky guy….

Kinda funny to reread some of these posts substituting in the "other" jacking meaning

It's the old shop/pro vs. DIY discussion and all the tradeoffs, etc. - it could go on for pages and pages
