Lime Rock RSR lap times
Things may be more cut throat today, but I ran across a video of the '75 (I think) IMSA race at Lime Rock a while back (pretty sure you were in that race George?) - I was impressed to see that even back then, with tires that would be considered bricks by today's standards, the pole time in a 3.0L RSR was 54.9. That would be damn fast even today. It wasn't easy back then either.
In 1976 Mike Keyser's Monza was on pole with a 55.1. Gregg qualified 2nd in a BMW 3.0 CSL. Holbert's Monza got fast lap of 55.4. I don't remember my qualifying time, but I won the race from 4th on the grid in my 3.0 RSR. On race time divided by laps I averaged 57.4 sec/lap. My last lap might have been faster since I caught Keyser in turn one and held on to with by .001 sec.

In 1975, Peter Gregg-RSR got pole for the first 100 mile race with a 54.9. Holbert, also in an RSR won the final 100 mile race, plus had fastest race lap with a 55.2. (I started 13th and finished 7th)
