Default Kumho v700 shelf life ????

Looking for any information on the shelf life for Kumho V700's. I have a line on 6 never mounter shaved tires that have been in storage for a few years. Not looking to experiment at 130mph to see if they are good but the price is right and I need new tires.

Any thoughts.....

How many years is a few? 3, 4, 5, 6? What was the storage conditions?

I would not have problem with 1 year old tires. 2 Year old tires are probably good for practice only and 3 year old R tires are ok for autocross practice.

Just my opinion.

I was told 4-5 in a dark garage. Was not sure if deterioration would set into a unused tire. Never dealt with this prior. Best to forget and move on.

Wet Climate or dry?

I know out here in Az it is so dry that 5 year old tires can show signs of dry rot.

Jim, This from 1010tires about the Toyoy RA-1s that I use:

"Winter or cold weather storage of the Proxes RA-1 is important. The tire should never be stored during the off season in temperatures lower than 0 degrees C. The tires should not be stored in an inflated condition. The optimum is completely deflated."

FWIW - I was told by my tire dealer that R compound's shelf life is ~3 years.

Toyo also says, look at the DOT and the number following, that shows the week of the year and the year the tire was made. If storage is ideal as mentioned above, then DO NOT exceed 5 years form date of manufacturing.
