Funny I did that to mine, I only did the part by the pedals, I used the stuff people put on steps, mine has a cool yellow stripe, I bought it at Menards for a few dollars.

Mine are great. I use them in my 991 GTS for road and track use. Easy to keep clean and protect wear on the carpet.
