I woke up Tuesday morning with no intention of buying a Cup car but by that night it was mine. Six days later I was driving it at the Glen (with no idea how to get it out of first gear!)

The car is about 75% of the cost of my first house which I bought 20 years ago and struggled to buy. Thirty years ago when I first got married I made $16,500 a year.
There has been a lot of hard work in the intervening years to be fortunate enough to own and race a car like this.

I remember getting back into my car after law school graduation and asking my wife where my Mercedes was. I forget the model, but the car I drove was a Chrysler hatchback with a VW engine, It could not have been a more horrible car.
No food stamps - but lots of mac n' cheese and ramen noodles. Red Lobster was the big date night for many years.
I took a video of me on the exercise bike -

And it was only 6 inches of snow. I don't exaggerate!
Lastly, are you surprised you didn't hear from me sooner after insuring my car with you? It must be a nervous underwriter who insures a brand new cup car!
