Awkward - No. Stupid - yes.

10 minutes of excuses before the first hint of an apology emerges:

This SIM racing is more dangerous to one's career than real racing... just ain't worth it. IMO.

I haven't followed the SIM racing for the same reason I don't follow Formula E, but are these guys forced to race on the SIMs to promote their team or series? If not, what's in it for them?

How was ABT involved in the diesel scandal? Care to elaborate? I only got a settlement from Bosch and Audi.

if my full time job was driving for ABT, then i would take the SIM race seriously since my pay cheque comes from them.

That was pretty embarrassing. Not sure what he was thinking. Not sure how he was dumb enough to think he wouldn't get caught.

there is contradiction right there in your one sentence... Sim "racing" is not *driving* by any definition. May be a little bit of testing, if they use sim specifically dialed for car/engine. But I'm pretty sure they all use standard sims, with equal setup for everybody. So you can't even call it testing. It's basically just gaming.

Call it whatever you want, but he was representing Audi and they cared enough to fire him

This is what I don't get. They wouldn't do these things any other time they are in the public eye - media events, sponsor events, etc. Why do they think when they get behind a camera in their sim rig it's different than when they are in front of a camera on a podium?

Miller is right. But this is the bed we as a society have made in the era of the Cancel Culture. Sad really.
