Why do we keep starting these threads and why do people keep replying? The mods should say "there are tons of threads on this so use the search function" and close it.

Which reminds me, what kind of oil does everyone use?

The plot thickens!

So - just got off the phone with Hagerty. According to the guy on the phone (very nice btw), coverage is for an HPDE event where the drivers are being instructed in some form or manner. Meaning that club days, where members arrive and drive with the club staff flagging/monitoring the track, would NOT be covered.

Going to now try Open Track to speak with them. Do we have any members that have had to execute on their coverages? As they are not insured, that is a bit of a flag.

Thank you

So Hagerty told you that students were covered but solo drivers were not?

You sure about that?

The problem with locking threads like this is that things change from year to year...

I described to the rep what I was looking for. Coverage during member days, where there was not a HPDE format. Open track, track employee's flagging. He stated it was not covered.

I wonder if that's why HOD dropped them and is partnering with Opentrack now...

Talked with Steve (Steve113) at On Track. Got things all squared away. Very responsive, patient and helpful.

Thanks @Steve113

I have OT as well but thankfully never had to file a claim.

I hear nothing but good things about them, especially if you are doing many days each season. Really saves a ton of $$ for the true track addict who does 50+days/season.

Hope the OP is all set with his track insurance, and may he never need to file a claim. Let the premiums be the worst investment you ever make.

Be safe....

That's weird because Hagerty does competitive TT insurance.. costs more though.

I was told most "accidents" happen just outside the main entrance to the track!
