LOL, has that thread hit 1000 posts yet? I meant the Canadian PCA group at Mosport has many slower cars mixed in with the faster cars in the Black run groups. With passing at the PCA Mosport events limited to only certain straights and the fact that it's a shorter track there can be a lot of trains that develop.

yes, i was just joking...on a much more serious note, here is the pro photographers website form last weeks event...some nice shots of you and the Cup and red RS

https://clutchfoto.zenfolio.com/p501413513

Trillium passing zones are everywhere (including Moss hairpin) EXCEPT the esses ((turns 9 &10)

Thanks for the link and info about Trillium. I'll keep an eye out for your car at future events.

Here is link to Trillium BMW Club ...I think you have to join to have access to the events page ..great group of guys and much faster than PCA, but you must have track insurance and a lap timer to get in. Track walk with Derek Hanson is worth the price of admission alone

https://www.trilliumbmwclub.ca

this is the link to the event--http://vps58250.vps.ovh.ca/civicrm/e...&page=1&html=1

looks like the Sat_Sun is sold out, but Friday is where its at-- same as last 2 day at WGI--run until your out of gas or tires...talk to Izzy Papadopolous ..he is the chief there to see if they can get you in 3days since traveling from so far.

Take plenty of brave pills for turns 2 &4 -- double apex, blind, off camber, 3-digit-speed turns.

Road Atlanta is fastest track in NA followed by Mosport....both same track designer.

Mosport is faster, the overall lap record there is 138.115 mph. The track record at Road Atlanta is 138.039 mph. Both were set in LMP1 cars. The GT LM track records are 120.412 mph at Mosport and 118.750 mph at Road Atlanta. Close, but no cigar.

Just curious, what do laptimes have to do with how fast a track is?

Is Lime Rock faster than Watkins Glen or VIR because the lap times are shorter?

What am I missing?

Thanks

well, not lap times per se, but average MPH....did the calculations for each track and qualifying lap.
that's what I deleted two posts up ...exactly what @chartersb said....I figured it would stir up too much $hit, so I deleted it

He's quoting average speeds not lap times.

Ok thanks. That’s not how I read it.
Shows how little I know.
Sounded like record lap times to me, not average mph.
Pushing 140mph as the average speed around ANY track is super fast, at least to me.
Thanks for the explanation.

Right. Wouldn’t want anyone on RL stirring the pot. LOL....

Love the technical analysis. All to say they are 2 very fast tracks! And quite different. They both flow so well.
