Default Fun with Niagara...

Great 2 days with Niagara.

Advanced DE Weds and Thursday at The Glen.

Ridiculous amount of track time. Ridiculous. More than you could stay out for. Think I got around 10 hours track time for the 2 days, and there was more to be had, but just couldn't handle any more than I was already doing.

Great weather (really dodged a bullet Weds, storms split and went north and south of us but we stayed dry).

Great weather, great track, great people, and great coaching. Really worked a lot on my braking and getting off the brake sooner.

Gotta mention how safe and well run these Niagara events are. So much fun. Check them out next season.

Saw all the Metro guys on their way up to WGI as we were leaving late yesterday afternoon. Weather looks stellar for all 3 days for you guys. Have fun.

For you advanced drivers, try to check out the 2 Niagara advanced DE's next season. They are as good as it gets and their DE culture is 2nd to none (and bring extra tires and pads--you'll need them).

Thanks to the entire NIA crew for another amazing 2 days, as always.

That is all, carry on..........

Why is it that they (Niagara PCA) require all cars to have two seats? Seems very strange...

Niagara likes to focus on learning and wants to have the availability to put an instructor in the car. That is why they want two seats.
Great group btw.

Ah yes, the green blur that flew by me like I was standing still.
Great event.
Frank, I didn't know Niagara had a 2 seat rule. First I'm hearing of it, but then again, all my cars have at least 2 seats, so I really couldn't speak to that rule.
Also, Father Tim was is tip top form down there at Pit Out. I actually pointed someone by in the hot pits as he was flying way too fast for pit lane, and then he got black flagged for speeding in the hot pits but I thought the black flag was for me also, so I came in as well.
Tim said I got roped in with the guy who was speeding through the pits and the black wasn't for me.
I came in anyway because I didn't know who the black was for.
3 Hail Mary's, a couple of Rosaries, and Father Tim let me back out on the track.
There were quite a few 3 RS's at the event. Damn can those cars fly. Are you guys running sub 2 minutes in those things?

Certainly a good goal. So instructors with race cars that don't have a passenger seat are not welcome at Niagara events?

I saw a couple of race cars at this event, and they looked like they only had 1 seat. I could be wrong as I didn't get to close to those race cars as I couldn't catch them....

Offical Statement from our team -

For full blown race cars and or track prepped cars with only one seat, Niagara does have a dispensation policy allowing those cars provided drivers are well qualified. Those drivers / cars should be in contact with the Tech Chair and Chief Instructor upon registration.

That's going to send some ecosnowflake to his safe space.

One my first track day way back when, my Jaguar XJR got 4 MPG average over the weekend. The BMW does a bit better at 6 MPG

Thank you! Still a very strange rule that must be somewhat unique amongst PCA regions. They are certainly known for the rule but not the dispensation policy.

LSR PCA doesn't have a rule against it, but it is frowned upon for students to only have one seat.

It's all about instruction. Students benefit from right seat riding also.

Additionally, spot checks with our core instructors
