He is asking about DE, not racing. We don't even know what level of DE.

I'd argue that unless the driver is either brand new at doing DE, or goes out of his/her way to be gentle on a car at DEs, the strain on the engine (and frequency of oil changes) doesn't vary much compared to racing.

Ok - level the field - Group 3/4, Red or Black Group - PCA Nat'l Instructor "Read" car is exercised fairly well .

Gus, you also do a lot of autocross, which means you likely see higher oil temps than a 'normal' track car would, too. Something else to take into consideration....

True on the AX, but after last engine rebuild I added a 2nd oil cooler and 2 fans. Now temps stay pretty normal range - so don’t think the AX temp range is an issue as much as summer DE temps. Ran NCM a couple of weeks ago air temperatures were around 96, with a measured air temp over the asphalt of 116. Car oil temp stayed in the 194 to 210 range. Which is the hottest I have seen it this year.

Huh? I worry more about engine oil not being hot enough at an autocross...not too hot.
