Yes it is but the 'wide' line is a fun pass if you can hold it. You are coming back in for 2 as the inside car is trying to track out.

There's a casino in Charles Town.

Is there power availibe? Showers?

I may invest in an enclosed trailer and stay on site.. That would be a new experience for me.

The only food I know is in Winchester which isn't near Charles Town. None of it is of the standard to which you have become accustomed.

Lodging is the typical chains mostly. There is also a few airbnbs in the area.

30 amp is somewhat widely available in the paddock although some of it is in the camping area in the tree area behind the paved paddock or in the grass between the paddock and the track. There are a few 50 amp boxes but all of them are located in the power boxes along the tree line in the paddock.

The bathroom has a shower. It's got hot water and is decent.

While I have not seen a deer on track I did almost hit one right before the main gate.

There was a fawn at the toe of the boot of WGI when I was there a few weeks ago.
What happened to the 12 foot fence they said was going to be constructed?

The deer fence construction started earlier this year. I don't know if it is done but some of it is visible if you glance left at turn in to turn 1. My guess is that they are finished. August isn't deer season; the test will be September through November.

Just an FYI, the track management at Summit Point is putting on a practice day again on the Thursday before the Club Race in September. It's a great value and you can sign up for the full day or now just the afternoon if you're driving in that morning.

Here is the link-

https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...circuit-173065

This is a private event and is not publicly searchable. Full safety gear is required as is a properly prepared race car. No street cars allowed. Full safety and corner workers as you would expect.

I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Potomac holds an event August 2-4 with a dinner on Saturday. Jeff is not in G anymore, or I could have asked which one of you pays more for me to show the other the slow line around SP. That is the only one I know

I think I saw Jim is registered for the event.

There is Hampton Inn in Charles Town, as well as Holiday Inn Express, and the casino has a hotel.

Most Potomac locals stay in Winchester either off route 7 (Berryville road) or route 50. Both have the typical chain hotels, but more off 50. There are places to eat in old town Winchester. A nice Italian place (reservation needed), a Thai place, and variety of bar food, including a brew pub. It is usually hot at SP in July/August.

Thanks Nader.

I just registered for all 3 days and in Black.

I'm in. Just gotta book some lodging. The casino is a real draw for me.

What hotels have a "track rate"? Anyone know?

What's the name of the Casino/Hotel in Charlestown?
