Who can teach me Summit Point?

Peter and Ross have exceptional track walk videos for quite a few tracks... Learned a bunch about VIR. But alas, nothing for SP.

Peter,
Any chance you can whip one out in the next few weeks?

Anyone else have a good detail reference for summit? I plan to do a DE in Aug and potentiality the club race in Sept, and I know nothing about this track.

Hahaha! Actually in the batch that is next up!

There’s some good stuff around. Great track, one of my favorites.

That’s very good. The TB line into T1 is the way to go.

Oleg's write up there is good. Some of his thoughts are biased toward his platform of choice, Miatas in various trims so if there are any references to being flat or the like take those with a grain of salt depending on what car you are in, although he generally does a nice job caveating that where appropriate.

I also somewhat disagree with his statement that turn 4 apex curb must be avoided; that was true before the repave but it can be touched now in ways it couldn't before the repave. I don't recommend using all of it like the curbs at NJMP, but you don't have to avoid it completely either.

Edit: Just noticed he has a separate section on the new pavement, with which I agree, obviously, as it is what I wrote above.

Apex at the deer.

Definitely agree with Peter about T1

This is from a few years ago, but the flow and the rhythm are the same. Track is quicker now.

Here's Sean Finnegan's excellent analysis after the first weekend of the new paving.

Do you have an idea when this will be out?

Hopefully by the Club Race... Jersey, too.

NJMP!!! Hopefully you do both circuits there! I look forward to all 3 track walks. Your Watkins Glen walk was a game changer, highly recommended to anyone looking to shave off some time.

How is the track surface now? Last year, I put on stickers for the club race and ran slower than I did on scuffs. Same story for other drivers on Hoosiers.

Man, I thought that was my braking point. No wonder I’ll never be flat out.
