Wow. We sure are getting a bit elitist if we don't think the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is not a real race car.

That was a big hit. Hope the GT3 driver was unhurt.

I think (hope) Matt just misspoke here...

The 991 GT3 Cup is “really a real race car.”

And it meets FIA Spec for a National Series.

It was a joke. Obviously a factory race car counts as a true racecar.

From Mustang driver on his group page: "Good afternoon everyone. I’m closing up shop. I’m stepping away from tracking for a while. I caused a collision and could have hurt someone. I’m not ok with that, and honestly I’m struggling with that. Thank you all for participating in the group. I really enjoyed this. Best of luck to all of you."

That’s progress, no? Acknowledging that his (pretty big) lapse in focus could’ve had far worse consequences.

Absolutely that is progress. Hopefully he comes back with a heightened level of awareness and the substantial responsibility that we all have to take care of each other out there.

Always good to have another set of eyes on the car. You cant argue that.
Correct, my post was just stating the facts as I experienced with recent Chin tech inspections, I had no intention to drag Chin into this Mustang/GT3 incident. The incident could have occurred with any track day organization given the same car/driver scenario.

Helping with the GT3 repair/replacement and its driver's medical bills would be the next step, after personally checking in and apologizing first of course.

Taking his comment at face value, it sounds like the Mustang driver has been at least a little humbled. Assuming its genuine, that's a step in the right direction.

The sliders are a different design/placement which avoid lateral seat movement.

And yes, Matt was making a joke. Obviously.

You should do a poll and see if the waivers/indemnity rules should be changed in D.E. to cover this. Then question whether you would want to be on track with people who would think it is not a good idea.

Lolololol. If you can't pay for the most expensive car on track, stay home you poors.

And thus ended track days in America.

You're totally out of touch with reality. I guess you are saying that people want to have no accountability and do whatever they want on track without repurcussions. The rules of engagement in real life should not apply to a recreational hobby?
