Similar to his speed in a GTD car, Ave's in TA cars and others in GT/LM, Indy Lights and LMP-C. DP's are a little slower because they're so nailed down.
I remember many years ago when Andy Wallace took the Cadillac LMP900 car flat up the Esses on his way to a time under Klaus Graf's Muscle Milk car record (1:35.434), and then later in the Porsche RS Spyder to a time better than the Cadillac.
If the timing is correct and the balance is good, it's not the most challenging part of the course. The left at the top can be, though...

Pretty cool comparison here. Hats off to Skeen (a Trans-Am, PWC and IMSA winner), for sure. His first HPDE was at VIR in 2004 and it's been great to watch his career trajectory.
GPS justified positions in each of these comparisons. The white speed overlay is the actual GPS speed, the speed on the video might be slightly different due to writing latency.
LMP-C car on left, TA car on right
Turn in to the first left
End of the first curb on the left, the true apex
Real race cars ROCK!

And the rest of the Uphill Esses...
Beginning of second curb, on right, Turn 8.
Middle of T8A
Leading edge of Turn 9 curbing on right
Over the crest and time to slow down.
Turn 10 turn-in
Turn 10 apex speed

David Murry Track Days are great for this sort of thing.
Marc, the new owner, took off quite a bit of time his first day in the car.
The nose of the car was catching air and not firmly mounted at the bottom, so it would go into a high speed oscillation as the pressure changed under the splitter and behind. Look at the end of the back straight.
It was a pleasure working with Mike, Marc, Billy Jr. and all the fine folks at JRIII in this inaugural outing at David Murry. We have CAN now so all is good.

Cool comparisons. If you have some other great resources on good comparison laps, maybe you can share those?
For folks at home, this is a great way to use www.comparemylaps.com to download the video from YouTube and then compare it to your video or others that you download.

There's so information here. CombG is interesting, too.
On the TA car, even though no CAN on this video, LongG positive is acceleration, small negative is thrust-negative and over -.3g is braking, so you can infer throttle position.
Granted, the car was not where it should or will be. Soon, though...

How did you decide on -.3G as the engine braking/braking threshold? That doesn't match the data I have from a number of cars.
