Ha! Sean, the pulled pork would probably require an unwanted side trip to Maaloxville

Mind over matter need not apply here!

Since watching more F1 recently, I am more respectful of the physical conditioning to drive at the intensity they do.
I was considering that as you moved up the scale past 8/10ths.
The quality of the inboard cameras on the F1 cars, allow us to appreciate the physical and mental drain over the course of many laps.
From that and my limited track days, I can see the P&M drain on a driver is exponential and not a straight percentage as the 10ths increase.

This is very true. I think this is a spot that Pareto got it right - it takes 80% of the effort to get the last 20% of lap time!

Thanks everyone for the great input. My 10/10ths is certainly different from the guy next to me, so I’ll be working to improve it... and stay below 11.

Those F1 guys are routinely experiencing 4G+ during braking and fast corners, throughout relatively long races. Definitely takes some real physical conditioning to handle that.

What is more remarkable to me than their physical conditioning (a relatively advanced discipline, now) is their ability to execute the top fractional "tenths" closer to the tractive limit in a dynamic environment over a very small variance within the field (the car capability window often differs more than the driver capability window).

Those cars slide in a visible way, and to do that, your butt needs to be very, VERY well calibrated.
