Drive to Survive F1 on Netflix

Enjoyed the first episode more than I expected. One pet peeve with all most racing documentaries is that they can't help but overlay commentary in some UK accent. That was especially annoying in Gentleman Drivers and the an earlier documentary on ... a gentleman driver (I forget which). Really annoying when they say something that is just contrived.
I feel like they are doing it here but can't discount legit audio by non US-market commentators. Anyone know?

Just finished the first episode and loved it. Amazing that both cars went limp the same lap from the same thing. Inexperienced pit crew at that level of driving is a shame.
On to episode 2....

Finished watching the series last night, loved every episode. I didn’t realize just how intense the rivalry/competition can be between ‘teammates’! Wow, makes me appreciate and respect Bottas’ acceptance of his role at Mercedes even more, must be tough for him. For the record, the amount of money that F1 teams burn per year is eye popping!! Great documentary series. I hope they keep it going each year...nice behind the scenes info!

Wife sat down and asked me what I was watching just as Daniel Ricciardo launched into his "I wanna scratch my *****" song.

Yeah, nice song. Scratch my *******.
Next time can someolease please warn me not to watch this series with my kids. Thanks you.
BTW, just finished first 1/2 hour session at VIR. Found myself singing DR’s song as I was “rearranging the furniture.”

Your Metro buddies are making some good paddock espresso right about now. Miss you down here ....
And to keep it on topic, Ciril vs Christian was as eye opening as George’s coffee. That guy don’t mess around with his espresso machine.

Couldn't agree more. It would have been awesome to see Toto Wolff's face (or Bottas' post-game uncut reaction) when ordering Bottas to let Hamilton pass at the Russia GP or to see Ferrari's former boss Arrivabene's expression after each of Vettel's mental mistakes in the 2nd half of the season!! The behind-the-scenes drama is sometimes as compelling as the on-track drama!

I'm only up to episode 7 as I'm savoring the last few in the event the actual F1 race this weekend turns out to be a foregone conclusion....
Given the success and universal popularity of this documentary, I still don't believe Merc and Ferrari will allow all access to their operations if there is a season #2. Speaking of which, if there were to be a second season, wouldn't the Netflix crew already be in Australia and be seen by everyone?
