When I got my IMSA license in '73, it cost $100, or $580 in today's dollars. If its only $950 today, that's not bad. Then, you have to consider what that entry allows you to earn back. If you could finish in the top ten, you could do OK.

They only pay out to the top 5 these days .

I'm guessing the entry fees aren't too low. Entri3s in some other series are more than lots of club people spend for a whole weekend.

Paid for my license last week.... next up the expense of entry agreement, credentials, transponder etc, etc...

License is the cheap part.
