U.S. Grand Prix - Who Will Win?
#17
As if things weren’t bad enough for Vettel and Ferrari, it appears that Vettel has been assessed a 3 place grid penalty for an infraction during practice. The best starting position he can hope for is 4th!! May not matter, Vettel is killing it in P3, let’s see what the actual qualifying results are. This may explain why MB and Hamilton don’t appear to be pushing it in practice, they know Vettel can’t start better than 4th tomorrow. Vettel can’t catch a break, sometimes it’s just not your year

Outcome too obvious. Going with Vettel for the contrarian bet.
Edit: Hmm, forgot about the three grid spot penalty. Now it's really a contrarian bet.

OMG, Hamilton just set a new COTA lap track record on his way to a provisional pole. If the position holds, it might be a wrap!
Lewis on pole, Kimi P2 and Vettel P5 (due to 3 place penalty). Turn 1 will be intense at tomorrow’s start as Kimi will be on ultra-softs to Lewis’ super-softs!! I’m not missing that start!

Agreed. It’s telling that on a day that Ferrari seems to have found the pace in their cars from earlier in the season, Hamilton still manages to secure P1. Say what you want about Hamilton, you’ve got to give him his props as a driver.

A few of us getting together tomorrow to watch the race. I'll afraid the race (and the championship) will be over after a couple turns... oh well, might be interesting to see who wins F1.5 (as Gene Haas calls it.)

The twins and I will be there in the Turn 4 stands. We are stoked to see them in the S's. And it seems we get to watch another Redbull as it slashes, rapier-like, through the hind field. Seems we have been seeing that alot lately from them as at least one of them tends to start from the back.
Cheers to a good show,
Debo sends.

Good race. Happy for Kimi, maybe happier for him than he is for himself. Cool to see a race at a track I’ve driven - their lap times are almost a minute faster than mine was!
