Default U.S. Grand Prix - Who Will Win?

Do or die. Time for Vettel hitch up his britches, pull down his cowboy hat, and put the spurs to his Ferrari to stage some type of comeback.

Sad to say but you can bet on Hamilton every race and rarely are you going to be wrong. I am a fan of his, especially when he was younger but I don't want to see such a disparity in any racing series. F1 has become unwatchable really. I hope the new technical regs in a few years will turn things around. Also the TV package is terrible compared to NBC. Where I was a rabid F1 fan I am now more focused on Indycar where anyone of a 8-12 drivers have a legit chance to win just about any race.

Truth. I miss Will Buxton on the grid. That was the highlight for my twins when watching a race. So much energy. They loved it.

I think the only other win for a driver besides hamilton for the rest of the year will be when he gives a win back to bottas once he locks up the wdc.

With a 331-264 lead (67 points), Hamilton needs to best Vettel by 8 points to clinch with three races remaining. Paying back Bottas' favor requires Vettel to be in 5th or worse if Hamilton is in second. That seems unlikely barring something crazy happening.

Rains and flooding in Austin, COTA partially flooded with more rains forecast this week. Not sure how it affects the F1 U.S. Grand Prix this weekend. Hamilton for the win, if all clears up and weather holds on race day. Qualifying likely in the wet though could make for some interesting intrigue!

The left bend between 14 and 15 had standing water clear out on to the white line on edge of track after heavy rains before and during the Schnellfest PCA event on 7-9 Sept. They placed cones to keep cars right of the water. I believe some drains had clogged due to the work done for the Rally Cross event just before or after the PCA event, so maybe that's all cleared up. Probably the worst effect of so much rain will be the parking lot quagmires. Gravel for most of the driving paths in most of the parking lots but grass/mud where you actually park. I was there for the debacle of 2015 where all parking lots not 100% paved were closed forcing everyone to take shuttles to/from downtown Austin. Wasn't so bad until the race ended Sunday and majority of people chose to go home rather than stay and watch the concert (Elton John I think?). Anyway, I'm going this year for sure, will be there all three days and I've got 2 kart sessions reserved on Sunday before the F1 race starts.

Ugh...this race is going to suck. Hamilton will win and will act like a rock star on the podium with his big Texan hat. "How are you doing Austin? Woo, I love this place."

I will do everything I can to keep from vomiting.
