Sebring first time, tell me how horrible I am
Friend of mine and I tried out Sebring for the first time. I learned so much about the track throughout the course of the day; this video was in about the middle so I already know of several places that I picked up speed.
Car is a basically stock 40th anniversary 996 on RE-71Rs, Motul brake fluid, Ferodo DS2500s, and koni sports.
Everyone on the internet loves to criticize, and I welcome it. So much experience here on Rennlist, and I have so little of it with this track.

A couple TrackAddict snapshots. Was running external GPS but no good phone mount so the accelerometer data is useless, and my PLX obd2 device never works. I am not 100% sure if this data is from the same session as the video or not.

Not Horrible, just need practice
You aren't using the full width of the track. Several times you were a car's width away from the apex. Rarely were you all the way to the outside of the track before entering the turn.
You were off the brake very early consistently and coasting to the apex or on the throttle much too soon.
Brake much later.
If you are carrying enough speed through the apex then you can't add throttle. So if you can add throttle prior to the apex, then you aren't carrying enough speed into the apex.

thanks for the feedback. fyi the C5 in the beginning of the video isn't me and his ABS is broken so he was realllly easy on the brakes all day. the 996 (in-car video in the second half) is me.

Not sure how much track experience you have, but, in my opinion, your time (2.38) is very respectable for your first time. Sebring is a challenging track. It’s also a long track and that makes being able to concentrate and be consistent that much more important. I’m doing 2.37, but that was with OEM tires and OEM suspension while I was specifically working on braking points and not necessarily trying to run the fastest lap. I now have Bridgestone RE71R and Ohlins Road and track oil overs. Theoretically, I should easily do better, but I will not know until October 21. I know that I beat my prior best lap times in the rain and dry track at Palm Beach international Raceway by 1 to 2 seconds. To be candid, I partially attribute that to driving more consistently and getting better, not just the hardware. I have a really good set of friends that routinely provide great feedback and I try to be a sponge and listen to them since they have a lot more experience than me. Either way, for your first time, I think that’s a great lap time.
