One additional piece of info: I had originally purchased a policy with opentrack a few seasons back, and subsequently discovered they have a 1 incident policy whereby if you make a claim they drop you for 3 years. I switched to Lockton who doesn't have that policy.

That's good to know. Fortunately, they cover my state. FYI - Hagerty was literally about half what Open Track quoted.

I cant speak highly enough about the OpenTrack format and Ben and Jerod who are the principals there. They make involvement in their program simple, and without getting into to much detail, were the most active party I was dealing with and acted as my advocate in a claim. Simply, they have a great offering and they are there and will stand by you when you need.

Hello, this is Ben from OpenTrack. Was reading through this thread and wanted to respond quickly to your note. We do not drop you if you have 1 claim. For annual policy holders that have a claim, the one course of action we take is to raise your deductible from 5% to 10%. That is the only action we take. We do not drop clients or non-renew them after 1 claim. Happy to answer any questions you have.

For folks like me who track frequently, Open Track was a no brainer. I like how I am covered for 12 months and don't have to plan when I am going. I can go places on spur of the moment decisions and not worry.

Do any of these insurance companies limit the value that can be insured? The Lockton site tops out at $150k, and ontrack says you have to call for a value over $150k. Since a new GT3 is likely over that amount even with basic options, cage, ppf, etc., has anyone had any issues with their high value car?

This is why I use OpenTrack...their limit is $3,500,000...plenty to cover any claim I would make tracking my 991.2 GT3.

You need more than $150,000 worth of coverage if you're tracking a late model GT3.

Comparison quotes I ran today for my 987.1 Cayman, for use during this weekend's Schnell Fest @ COTA.

Quotes were for $28,000 value, 10% deductible, all 3 days covered, instructor covered, no time trials:
$162.00 - Hagerty / RLI / HWI
$180.16 - OnTrack / Great American
$210.00 - Lockton
$304.50 - OpenTrack

All quotes were the exact same with the sole exception being OpenTrack coverage was for $30k instead of $28k, since $30k is their minimum coverage amount when getting a quick quote. Going with Hagerty.

Just make sure that you read the full policy carefully to make sure you are getting what you actually want in coverage.

Comparison quotes for a 2 day event for a $170k 2018 GT3, 10% deductible (apples to apples):

Lockton - car value limit is $150k - n/a
OpenTrack - $820 including taxes and fees
OnTrackInsurance - $1187
Hagerty - $1375

Are there any companies that sell a seasonal pass good for just a few track DE days per season? I only do 2 to 4 DE days per year.

If you are doing multiple track days/season (and I mean multiple, not just 2 or 3), then Open Track is a no brainer.
I have used them for 2 or 3 years now. Prices are fine, Ben, Jarod, Sue, and the rest of them are super easy to deal with, and the peace of mind is priceless.
I highly recommend Open Track based strictly on my experience with them.
