Is Anyone Racing at Rennsport Reunion II ?
This is not a sanctioned PCA event. Who is the sanctioning body? Are they safe and clean drivers? Did anyone do this at RR I? How was it?

Rennsport Reunion I was an event that any participants/spectators will long remember. It came about after Brian Redman, and his company intercontinental events (gorace.com) did the double 50 event at the Glen in 1998. RRI was three years after, and the president of PCNA made an announcement/promise at dinner that RRII would be held in another 3 years.
RRI was the single largest gathering of 917s and even more impressive than the double 50. I was at both, as my father raced in both. I enjoyed watching the double 50 more, as the high hp cars could stretch their legs. Lime Rock, where RRI was, is quite short. There was nothing like seeing Haywood and Redman do battle at the Glen, only .5 seconds off the original qualifying times for the cars back in the day! I expect Daytona will provide even more great racing.
Yes, there will be absolutely safe and clean driving, but its still racing. Redman has the ability to not only bring the cars, but their original drivers.
I'd try to get it on my schedule. If you're looking to race your G car, you won't be winning the cool trophies as all 911s (full race and stock class) will run together. We did both previous races in our stock class F car, and finished mid-pack, passing cars worth 5 times ours!
Hope this helps.

I registered for it, sent them a car photo and transponder # (both are required). I received the "see you in Daytona" email from James Redman so as far as I know, I'm in. I can't wait.

Mark,
The only gripe I ever had with Redman was that I never receieved any confirmation, as we run his Jeff 500 race each year. I'm glad to hear you got an e-mail, just wanted to give you a heads up as to thats probably all you'll get.

Yep a couple guys from our region (Schatt) signed up. It ought to be a blast. I cannot spring free to make the trip but when I explored it a few months back, transporters were filling fast so I assume a good east coast contingent will be there.

I have some pretty informative in car video from Daytona if somebody wants to see the layout. Just let me know. I would say that the all 911 group will be less aggressive that the cup car group. Any body damage and the car gets parked for the duration.

I will be there with a 993 cup. Does anyone know if the cup class will be broken down by GTC1,2 & 3 as in PCA racing? I do not think I could keep up the newer cars around the banking!
