Designing race car graphics
I am hoping to design custom graphics for two track cars (Porsche 944 NA and 2005 Ford GT). What are the best software packages to use for designing race car graphics? I was thinking of using photoshop but are there better alternatives out there?

I think ultimately most people would be using Illustrator because it can output "vector" art which is better for vinyl cutting machinery.
From when I've done it in the past the process was like this:
From when I've done it in the past the process was like this:
- Take Side/front/top photos as well as 3/4 views.
- Print many copies and hand sketch first on top of the side/top/front. Develop several different design concepts this way.
- pull the photos into Illustrator and do the art work there laid over the car in a tighter way rather than rough sketches
- make a decision on which concept is the strongest
- tape out the design work on the car in full scale
- make paper forms for the vinyl
- transfer the paper forms and recreate them in Illustrator in full scale for vinyl cutter (or use the paper forms to hand cut vinyl)
- Apply vinyl and drink beer

If you're hoping to design them and print or cut them from the same software then you'll want to use Adobe Illustrator.
