I need the unemotional logic of RLers. ZR1 or R?

Another gap in my knowledge? People always say to me their GT3 is the best thing they have ever driven. Smooth, balanced, shifts like butter??

I love the idea of a Radical and when I grow up and learn to drive it may be in my future. Not to add another dimension to this, but why not get something like a BGB 3.8 upgraded street/track Cayman with all the safety gear, suspension upgrades, etc. Total track beast you can drive back and forth?

and wide... it is the width of the car and the long nose (in a c7 u sit just in front of the rear axle with almost 2/3 of the car in front of you) that give the undeniable feeling of trying to steer and battleship compared to turning in a cayman

You can't actually get a ZR-1 unless you pay over sticker. True?
What is it about Corvette drivers? Does anyone setup their Corvette with a roll bar and a 5 point harness?

I feel like it’s the wheel base as much as it is driver position fore/aft. The cayman wheelbase is much shorter than the C7.

No, you haven’t missed anything. The 991.1 GT3 is everything you mentioned. To me, it has an edge that can be intimidating. The GS doesn’t have that edge. The GT3 jumps into the power band so quickly and I think that’s the difference. I call it poking the bear when you drop the hammer in the GT3.

In the older Vettes I always got the feeling I was playing a video game and not driving - the nose looked so big it was hard to feel connected to where I was actually steering. I did a few laps in a C7 and it was definitely better, but still felt big. I'd take the steering feel of a Cayman R any day. Raw power is another story.

Guess how many R's are left in the whole world . . .
Not many.
So, you guys think it won't become a collector's item. I'll take that bet.

I think I already ruined mine though. 50k mi, track rash, some of the interior is missing. Oh well.

Regarding the Camaro the Zl1 is a really fast car that is really heavy. So if you are on a track with many corners it is too heavy to manipulate very well. We were at NCM this past weekend with the corvette group and there were lots of the Camaros and they seemed slow to me. I think they are almost 4000 lbs.
