There is anew version just out that I have not yet used, so this may all change but I use it with the Dual X150 GPS and record vidoe along with the data.
I like you will not have any OBD output.
You select your track, then adjust your settings and put the app in preview mode if doing video. I have it set to start with GPS and movement so it starts automatically at 10 mph while you are in ready mode.
AT the end of the session you can stop recording and then set it up for the next session. I have mine plugged in to a USB outlet all the time in the car
