Default 1 Day Track Insurance?

Ive been doing 2 day DE events but there are a couple events where I only can do 1 day. I’ve been using Haggerty for my 2017 Carrera GTS at $689 total for 2 days so it breaks down to $344 per day.

Haggerty doesnt offer 1 day Insurance ...they just charge you the same $689 no matter if you are signed up for 1 day.

Any insurnace companies offer just 1 day of track insurance for a 1 day DE event? I can’t find any myself....help! Thanks Mike

not that I know of. Lockton is per event (1, 2 or 3 days - same cost). $60K is about $350 per event. certainly makes the one day events a lot less cost effective. at $689/event, there is one carrier that's per year - all events covered at one cost no matter how many. I wonder if it might be cost effective. I think 100K of coverage was about $3K for a year's worth of events last time I looked. can't remember the name, maybe On Track? or Open Track? search rennlist and you'll find it..

If you do enough events, The Open Track is a terrific option.

I’ve had this discussion with numerous companies regarding this, no one offers 1 day policies except RLI has SCCA Track Night (all are single afternoon/evening events) discounts. Also, RLI HPDE is the cheapest I’ve found, they underwrite for Locton.

Based on the 3.9k quote I got from the open track for a 100k car (their lowest coverage option).... It seems I have to either a) do a few more events, it b) get a more expensive car to make it equitable. This is going to sound weird to the wife.

Talk to them, as in call them. I got my car insured for $80K at a little less than $3500.

Same Here, I Just got $75,000 coverage through Open track with a 5% deductible for $3,501 for 12 months. their usual minimum is $100,000 coverage but they do write a limited number of policies at lower levels

My GTS value is $126k.

I just can't do all these 2 day events anymore. I want to do 1 more track day before summer then go back at it in November and December for a couple track days.

I apologize for the slight thread jack here but I thought it's not really worth it's own thread-

Does anyone have any idea what's up w Lockton? Their website was down for quite a while; it's now back up but I can't seem to manage my multi-event policy online. Whenever I contact them about it via e-mail or call, their response is they're not sure what's up w their website but can try to manually add the event to the policy. It sounds like they can't even see the past events I've insured using that multi-event policy.

I guess i'll have to give Open Track a call

Lockton is the most expensive, so recommend against on that one. I like RLI track insurance, easiest to sign up for. OTI is also ok, but always seems to be more expensive than RLI. I heard RLI / Hagerty are the same insurance.

On a side note, $689! in insurance per event, now that's a lot to run the GTS.
