Goodwood Festival of Speed
Has anyone here attended? Grateful for any thoughts or tips - it's one week apart from Silverstone F1 this summer.
I've always been interested, and would be happy to hear thoughts from those that have attended prior editions.
Cheers
Matt

Fantastic event, I’ve been to 4 festivals, each one better.
not anything else like it in the world of motorsports, use YouTube to get a feel for what goes on, and their website
No telling who you will meet and visit with along the way in the paddocks, here are just a few
Lord March of Goodwood
sterling moss
johnny rutherford
richard petty
Jesse James
Ken Block
Jim Hall Jr
a must is to have roving grandstand ticket for Sat or Sun allows access to all stands
Parking pass a must also
let me me know if you have any questions

Three Wheelin'
I went to it when I lived in the UK... it is MUST see. standing behind a F1 car (6ft) during engine warm up is something you will never forget.
get the grandstand tix.
make sure you pick a day that has the events you want to see.. or 2 days
I flew in to the FoS grass airstrip with a buddy of mine piloting a small 4 seater from his local club. it was only 80 miles flight but we didn't have to deal with parking :-) and airplane parking was free

Thanks guys, this is great. I've heard the same (It's Epic) from a few of my racing friends in the UK. I will do some more research, but think this is going on my 2018 calendar along with Silverstone.

also, you need at least two days at the event to take everything in. hotels in the area are limited so make reservations early. countryside is stunning and my family enjoyed it as much as I did.

Rennsport Reunion too...
In my limited experience, some of these need to be seen in person to be believed. Definitely worth making one happen from time to time, as circumstances allow.

I've been to the Revival once and it was just as wonderful as I had anticipated.
I've been to the Laguna Seca Historics multiple times, and as far as the on-track racing is concerned, the Revival is far superior.

We're going this year. Graduation present for my son. He's been wanting to go for years. Can only do one day (Friday) but really looking forward to it.

Thanks for sharing. I'd always wondered about the backstory on that crash.
