I heard the news over the weekend on the radio. I've been wondering how they managed this long, to be honest. I grew up 13 miles as the crow flies from the Englishtown strip, and was impressed that I could clearly hear the top fuelers and jet cars, and sometimes even some of the lower class cars, when they ran there. I went to the track a few times over the years to watch the Summernationals. I'm not a drag racing fan at all, but it's worth seeing top fuelers pound the pavement at least once in your life. They literally rattle the grandstands when they go by.

Not that many of us here care too much, but they have a rinky dink road course at Raceway Park. Their press release says they are planning to keep the other activities at the facility like motocross, drifting, road course, karting, etc.

Grew up near Flemington Speedway and spent many a weekend there and at Englishtown. I expect track closures will only accelerate as EV's become more prevalent. Once you've felt and heard Outlaw sprinters up close there's no going back....

Sunday. SUNDAY!
No longer fun day.

BTW NJ was a hot bed of short track and drag racing back in the day.
