2017 Outstanding Driver Award - PCA
The last issue (November/December 2017) of PCA Club Racing News contains a list of "select racers who raced respectfully and safely for a minimum of nine incident-free races in 2016". Not sure if 2016 is a typo or if PCA and OG Racing (the very kind sponsor!) awards these a year later. I think it must be a typo.
That being said, either way, there are some surprising names on the list if it is 2016 or 2017.
If it is 2017, I am just chuckling to myself. For example, let me take a hypothetical Canadian driver named Datt Mistefano, who I have raced with in SPC. (I don't want to give too many details as I respect everyone's privacy
) On the outlap of a practice session I watched him overtake a slower car by driving four wheels off. It was Mad Max type stuff! Apparently, Datt Mistefano is a safe and respectful driver! Who knew?!
Of course I made the list, because I love myself and don't want to die, so of course I am safe! Not so much with some of my PCA racing brothers (and one or two sisters who made the list.)
I assume you only have to be safe in nine races and can go demolition derby in the rest?
Anyway, thanks OG for sponsoring this award and providing a discount and suit patch!

The 200 people who didn't hit anybody get subsidised brakes. Maybe it's the other sub-set that needs them?
