AiM has hired a woman in Italy to help provide better documentation. Stuff is beginning to trickle out.

As someone who's sold nearly a thousand Traqmate systems in ten years, I agree. This is one of the reasons I chose to add Racelogic's Video VBOX in 2010 to the lines I sell. While some folks "get" AiM and have the patience to come up to speed on it, others don't care for it and find it frustrating. The VBOX is a lot easier, because it used fixed templates, WITH auto synced video, so the learning curve is MUCH less steep.

I think AiM is pushing much more learning material and seminar/webinar resources out in the last few years, but because it's so configurable, it also takes time to set it up. It IS a great tool, but only if your patient and committed enough to learn it.

The aim seminars are great, focused on karting for some but easily transitioned to cars....but it takes time and having data to play with.

Peter turned me onto VBox.....worst part/side effect is if you already have a dash logger, it then becomes a laptime display with shiftlights and useful alarms.....great software and great hardware just lacks the shiftlights and alarms.....but I'm a firm believer now.

as for dealers, very true as others have said. Having the proper support and someone who has either seen the issue before or knows of it is like finding a good mechanic

I have found the AiM system rather easy to use. You may want to sit down with someone at one of your events and go through it with them I find it easier to do a lot of times when I have seen it done by looking over someone's shoulder.

There is an on line manual if you go to the AiM website. Try here:

thanks for this Matt. I am ok for now. Have my channels setup the way I want. Going to get Justin at amp to help go through the data after new car arrives.
