Agree, I've grown attached. Have had TM for over 10 years. But alas, not willing to wait out the inevitable complete lack of support. Wish someone would buy them out.

Having WiFi is a great addition. I love having it on my MXL2. An iPhone app that can download and view data is even more interesting. This looks like a very nice evolution of a very good device.

I've got both a classic TM and a Solo DL and I have to admit the simplicity of the TM display and controls is still very, very good. My 50+ year old eyes have trouble reading some of the small detail on the Solo - the TM is very good at summarizing.

Why do I have both? Well the TM GPS is getting a little temperamental, and lack of support,etc... I still have my analogs on the TM and will be moving them to the Solo DL when time allows.

As Matt pointed out, AiM does allow the importing of your old TM data to compare with new AiM data.

What do you mean by “moving your analogs”? You’re going to need an MXm to do that. The good thing is that the display is larger, the cost is reasonable and it’ll be here in the next six months, cross out fingers!

Allowing analog inputs on the Solo2 DL would have been enough to push me over the edge and upgrade from my regular SoloDL.

Yeah, I know about the software. As for the analogs, it is a personal project that fits the disclaimer, "Closed course, professional driver. Do not attempt!"

i missed that point. Is this feature limited to the new models or do the current ones do it as well. Also is the GPS in the unit itself, so must be window mounted?

GPS is in he unit itself but the antenna must be strong because I have stuffed into side pocket of my 911 and it gave proper lap times. On my track car it's mounted on center vents.

Nope, software dependent. Race Studio Analysis works with all TM files.

Well, the progression in cost and features is Solo/Solo DL/MXm/EVO4S/EVO5/MXL2/MXS/MXP/MXG

There is a LOT of extra features for $300 over the Solo DL 2 in the MXm.

Are they planning an android compatibility for the data transfer? Surprised they wouldn't include that at release.

The MXP is different than the rest and not in the progression, but lateral with the MXS and MXG. The MXP uses an alarm bar instead of alarm lights and has two high power outputs. It will also feature some different programming methods.
