2015 C2S iron brakes. I have been using Pagid yellows in the past. Usually get 4 events (8 days, 4 one half hour sessions per day) I drive in the intermediate group. Any suggestions on pads and rotors. The Giro Disc rotors look awesome however a little out of my price range. Thank you

 

I switched to Ferodo DS1.11 after a set of the Pagid yellows (14 C4S). Didn't hate the yellows but I like the Ferodos a bit better. More initial bite, a bit better pedal feel, easier modulation. YMMV

I also tried out switching from Pagid RS29 to the Ferodo DS1.11.

I agree that the bite and pedal feel was a little better than the RS29s. But I had wear issues w/the DS1.11. They wore very quickly in relation to the RS29s and actually started breaking apart in chunks. I switched back to RS29s. The slightly better pad characteristics was not worth it to me for the increased wear.

Amazing. I've had the exact opposite experience, but I probably don't use my brakes as good as I should be yet. Still have lots to learn. My DS1.11's last me longer than anything else I've used.

Whatever works best for the individual driver is what they should be using.

I’ve been running Endless ME20, tomorrow is the second day on them so I don’t know how long they’ll last but on track they’ve been amazing. Strong bite and consistent feel all day long, sometimes initial bite is too strong if I hammer it they overpower the street tires I’m running, which I just have to modulate better.

 

I had pretty good luck with the PFC08's aside from them being freaking loud. Some don't have that issue and some claim that it's all in the bedding procedures. Regardless- the noise was only on the street (before I had a dedicated track car and trailer).

I'm running PFC06's now - good bite but a bit of fade towards the end - easy to modulate and pretty predictable in every way.

I'm going to try the Pagid blacks next.

I run Hawk DTC60 for NT01's or DTC70/80 for Pirelli DH. They are cheap, they work well, have good modulation on initial bite and have never faded a set.

 

The pagid black RS14 are a safe bet. most all the cup cars were running these for many years.

 

If you like RS14 you may also consider the newer RST3 compound if it's available for your intended use. RST3 is a sprint compound compared to the endurance RSL compounds (19, 29, RSL1 etc.)

 

I ran the Ferodo DS2500 at Sebring last month...1 day only and have been street driving them. I’m in advanced solo and instructor group. My pad I use to run was Pagid rs29Yellows. The Pagid was probably a better long time use pad but is very loud on the street. The Ferodo worked great at the track, rotor friend,y and great on the street with no brake squeal.

ill be back at Sebring Dec 9th...will keep a watch on these pads...so far they are great as a dual purpose pad

 

I put a set of PFC08s on my wife’s CS last year when I installed the Girodiscs and they’re still at 3/4 pad after 6 DE weekends in PCA Advanced group. Rotor wear is almost non existent too (just barely feel an outer lip forming). Tiny bit of squeal at slow speed stops, but nothing terrible.

 

How did you find the PFC's? Anything to compare to? I've used them and Pagid RS19's, but on another chasis. I liked both about the same, however bedding seemed a little easier with the PFC's.

 

Really don’t have a point of comparison on this platform other than OE setup. Recommended pads when I went to the Girodiscs were either RS29s or PFC08s. Decided on the later and have been extremely happy with both the performance and longevity. Grab is very linear with pressure, and release is also smooth. I used my standard bedding practice that I’ve used for 20+ years, and they were good to go.
