WTB: Used Driving Suit
Hello rennlisters,
I'm super excited that I'll be driving in my first ever race this December at the Lemons race in Road Atlanta! Prior to this, I've only done DE's - looking forward to the experience.
That said, I'm gearing up and I'm hoping not to break the bank on a driving suit. It's the last item I need to complete my safety gear.
Looking for SFI 3.2A/5 rated, size...?.... I'm 5'11" and 175lbs.
Anyone have anything lying around that fits the bill?
Thanks!
-Jonathan

Have you tried on a 52? Given your height and weight I would think a 56 might be closer.
I have a Sparco 58 I'd let go cheap. If you were in the US I'd say fill up on Thanksgiving but you had your chance at Thanksgiving dinner already.

Kurt is right. 52 seems small
I have a momo size 56 that i bought for my first race which was - yup same as you - a lemons race. Its not the Uber expensive super light. Not for July in Virginia, but perfect in cooler weather
Pm me if interested

we bought suits here for crew members for our WRL races. lots of sizes, use the search feature. lots are two piece, but they do sell a number of one piece as well...

Do you think the 58 would be a bit too big?
Hahaha! Yes we filled up on turkey.... but I never say no to celebrating a second time with friends south of the border!

I'm also looking for a suit for my friend who I'm going down to ATL with for the race. He's similar size as I am, maybe a bit lighter... 5'11" 165lbs.

No way in hell you'll fit in to a 52. I'm 5'11" 150 and wear a 54. It's a bit loose in the waist, I had to get it taken in and reduce the belt a bit. Different brands sizes fit a bit differently. I'd try on before you buy but I'd guess you would be a 54 or 56.
I'd personally buy a new suit, lots of decent options for 500-1k.

If you're really stuck on an SFI suit I can't help, but if you want a practical and cheap fire suit take a look at used or new nomex flight suits on eBay. You can buy three of them in different sizes and toss the two that don't fit for less than $150. If you get lucky you can size it right the first time and get a brand new one for $40. I used to fly with NASA, the suits work.
Nomex is nomex. If you want multi-layer protection buy underwear to go with it? They come in any color you want as long as it's royal blue, olive drab, or desert tan
