Default 993 or 996tt caliper. ...which would you choose

Strange question but if you were to spec either of these calipers. ...which one would you go for and why.?
I know the 993 has a simpler pad removal. .
996 has a thicker disc and slightly larger pad
both have same piston area
does one perform better than the other?
I assume the later monoblock caliper is stiffer but maybe I'm wrong

The pad removal in a 996tt is fairly simple.
