Passanger side vibration on 05 CGT
Anyone ever have this? I think its coming from the plastic tray underneath the passenger seat thats meant to be like an umbrella holder or something of the sort? The noise is quite annoying. Anyone ever experience this? If so any solutions?
Ive noticed that when cold the transmission is very notchy out of first gear. I hate the feeling when I shift it cold. But once warmed up, everything shifts fantastic.

does it sound like something is loose and there is a resonating hum/thump?
then that's probably either your passenger kick plate or that plastic thing on the side of the passenger seat

Im going to try and remove the plastic by the seat and see what happens. I dont think its the kick plate. It doesn't feel loose. While the plastic seat piece feels loose. You can almost push up and down on it and replicate the noise.

The reluctant 1-2 shift when cold is normal in a CGT and many other cars as well. It's important to let the engine and gearbox warm up before spirited driving. I just shift 1-3 initially when cold. After a few miles/minutes of driving a slow gentle double clutch 3-2 downshift will engage 2nd without drama. Once 2nd has been engaged and driven in it gets easier to do a careful 1-2 upshift. After a few careful 1-2 upshifts and the engine is up to operating temp it should be good to go.

Yes, once all is warmed up the gearbox is smooth as silk...
